DIGITAL ARTISTS IN RESIDENCY PROGRAM enables international artists to come to Valencia, to develop their artistic process with an emphasis on new media and use Forja ArteContemporáneo space and equipment to further experiment with technology. The residency offers one to three month access to a personal computer station, with broadband Internet and software, Monday to Friday from 9am to 8pm. The program intends to promote the use and integration of technology and media for the creation of new work. The residencies take place in the Digital Studios of Forja ArteContemporáneo, sited in calle Lebón 19, bajo, Valencia. Spain.
Digital Artists in Residency Forja ArteContemporáneo mission is to offer international artists and art professionals working on digital media the opportunity to come to Valencia and work in an innovative environment and to collaborate with local artists with the purpose to establish new contacts between Spain and other countries.
The aims of Digital Artists in Residency Program Forja ArteContemporáneo are:
+To offer, provide and facilitate outstanding international artists working on digital media the opportunity to participate in the Digital Artists in Residency Program.
+To create partnerships with other Residency Programs with the purpose to facilitate the exchange and mobility between art professionals linked to Forja ArteContemporáneo and other international centres.
+To showcase the work created in the Digital Artists in Residency Program in Forja ArteContemporáneo exhibition space with the aim of promoting these projects and the artists involved to local audiences.
+To arrange and take part in seminars, workshops, panel discussions, conferences and other programs associated with Digital Artists in Residency Program with the aim of promoting the program and create new links with other similar centres.
Selected artists will ideally bring their own projects in an early stage of development to the residency and know how to produce it, but want to develop further their ideas experimenting with new methods. Artists are encouraged to develop local contacts and possible collaborative projects.
